HOU-ACTINITE is an organic fertilizer made from biosolids at a specially designed waste water treatment plant in Houston, Texas. Wastewater solids are processed for odor reduction, sterilized and pelletized. The resulting product is a clean, easy to handle and nutrient rich fertilizer with excellent soil enrichment properties. HOU-ACTINITE is available in both Granular and Greens Grade sizing.

For centuries farmers have realized the value of organic fertilizers. The organic matter in HOU-ACTINITE provides substantial nutrients (Iron, Zinc, Copper...). These nutrients become available to the crops in a time released manner as the organic material decomposes. This helps to minimize the loss of the nutrients due to leaching. The EPA has set stringent quality requirements for the beneficial use of biosolids products. HOU-ACTINITE is a dry granular free flowing product. It is easy to handle and apply. HOU-ACTINITE’S slow release characteristics reduce the risk of burning due to misapplication and leaching from over watering. Usually the application rate is determined by the Nitrogen requirements for the plant. Since the EPA considers HOU-ACTINITE to be a Class A exceptional quality biosolids product with unrestricted use, there are no EPA requirements for record keeping and it can be applied to any crop.
